Lady Gaga lidera as nomeações aos MTV VMAs 2010. A cantora de ‘Alejandro’ está nomeada em 13 categorias, tornando-se na artista mais nomeada de sempre num só ano e a primeira a estar nomeada por dois vídeos na categoria “Video do Ano”, por ‘Bad Romance’ e ‘Telephone’.
«Sinto-me muito honrada em nome de todos os pequenos monstros e freaks auto-proclamados do universo, por ter mais nomeações aos VMAs num só ano do que qualquer outro artista na história da MTV. Ironicamente, estou ainda mais orgulhosa por ser o número do azar: 13», referiu Lady Gaga, a propósito das nomeações aos prémios da MTV. «Há muito tempo, o mundo disse-me a mim e aos meus pequenos monstros que nunca seríamos ouvidos. Juntos mudámos as regras. (...) Obrigado, MTV!», completou.
O segundo artista com mais nomeações é Eminem, que pode levar para 8 VMAs, entre os “Melhor Video Masculino” e “Video do Ano”, ambos por ‘Not Afraid’.
«Aparentemente a MTV não quer saber que eu tenha dois grandes concertos em estádios no outro lado do país no dia a seguir aos VMA's. Estão a brincar comigo, certo?!?!» afirmou Eminem com o seu humor habitual. «Quer dizer, eu vou estar lá, mas não esperem que esteja bem disposto», completou o rapper, igual a si próprio.
Florence & The Machine e B.o.B. estão na corrida em 5 categorias cada, Ke$ha está indicada para 3 “Moonmen” e Justin Bieber está na corrida ao VMA de “Artista Revelação”, por ‘Baby’.
Os MTV Video Music Awards 2010 são entregues no Nokia Theater, em Los Angeles, nos EUA, no dia 12 de Setembro.
